CAPITOL STEPS
The Capitol Steps are celebrating their 30th year by performing songs from their most recent release, Desperate Housemembers, as well as brand-new songs in step with breaking news. Known as the Forbidden Broadway of politics, The Capitol Steps received a Drama Desk nomination for outstanding lyrics, and won a “Washington Post Best Bets” award. They have been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN and can be heard nationally on Public Radio.

SOUL OF CUBA: SIERRA MAESTRA
Cuba’s famed Sierra Maestra, founded in 1976, has played a key role in the recent worldwide popularity in Cuban traditional music. A leading guardian of the Cuban son tradition, the musical soul of Cuba and foundation of modern salsa, the ensemble has been a pioneer in reviving and now redefining this infectious dance music for new generations and reintroducing it into the Cuban mainstream. Sierra Maestra was the first group of the modern era to play in the old-style son line-up from the heyday of the 1920s and ‘30s - tres, guitar, trumpet, bongo, güiro and vocals – and had several of its original members perform in the Buena Vista Social Club.  Its repertoire ranges from classics of the Golden Age to stirring new works. This program features selections from its Latin Grammy-nominated album Sonando Ya (World Village).“Music doesn’t come more energizing than Havana’s glorious Sierra Maestra” The List (UK). LEA SALONGA: THE JOURNEY CONTINUES...
Tony, Olivier Award-winning  star and recording artist Salonga continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Well known for her lead performances in the Broadway hits Miss Saigon and Les Miserables, the elegant Salonga is probably best known to the public as the voice of Disney’s animated heroines of Mulan and Aladdin. The New York Times, writes, “Ms. Salonga’s bright, metallically edged voice is a shiny all-purpose instrument that confidently establishes its dominion over whatever musical setting surrounds it.” While Backstage lauds, “Hers is probably one of the clearest and most expressive voices in cabaret and theater today.” Join us for a one-night-only engagement, The Journey Continues… an intimate evening that features a selection of Broadway tunes, standard classics, and today’s hits, as well as personal stories of her journey that has spanned decades.

A singer-songwriter who injects his music with wry humor and piercing insight, Loudon Wainwright III has recorded more than 20 albums, including 2009's Grammy-winning High Wide & Handsome, while frequently composing work for other artists. Johnny Cash, Earl Scruggs, Kate and Anna McGarrigle and son Rufus Wainwright have all performed Wainwright's songs. In addition to his album releases, he has appeared on TV and penned topical songs for NPR NPR's Morning Edition and All Things Considered, The New York Times and ABC's Nightline. He collaborated with Joe Henry on the music for the hit movie Knocked Up.

AN EVENING WITH JUDY COLLINS & MADELEINE PEYROUX
The Town Hall is delighted to present Grammy-winning singer/songwriters Judy Collins and Madeleine Peyroux in an evening of music. Each artist will have their own band to play their unique styles. Collins is best known for her Grammy-winning interpretation of Stephen Sondheim’s Send In The Clowns and has entertained worldwide audiences with her folk songs with contemporary themes. Known for her interpretation of Patsy Cline's Walking After Midnight, Peyroux is known as being the 21st century Billie Holiday. Following her work on her albums Careless Love and Half The Perfect World, which brought Madeleine enormous success, she was honored at the BBC Jazz Awards for Best International Jazz Artist.

JANE KRAKOWSKI LIVE AT THE TOWN HALL
Part sex kitten, part All-American girl, Tony Award winner and three-time Emmy nominee Krakowski has a knack for scene stealing roles, from hit television shows like Ally McBeal and 30 Rock to Broadway, where she earned a Tony Award for her role in the revival of Nine. The New York Times calls Krakowski, “A gold digger, a femme fatale, a sex-crazed she-devil in a red dress: Krakowski toys lightly with such images in her frothy cabaret act…an anthology of songs both famous and obscure, loaded with saucy double entendres, that were once staples for the likes of Eartha Kitt, Mae West and Ethel Waters.” In her Town Hall debut, she will beguile the audience with American, Broadway, pop and jazz tunes that showcase her unique voice and personality.
